The International Gaming Awards 2016 (IGA 2016) took place in London at The Savoy Hotel on February 1st and Microgaming ended up winning the coveted Innovator of the Year award for a game called VR Roulette. This event took place one day before ICE Totally Gaming, which ran for a total of three days from February 2nd to 4th.

It was at this year’s ICE event where Microgaming, along with UK player Jonathon Heywood and Betway Casino all received official Guinness World Records® certificates, recognising the record-breaking €17,879,645.12 (approx. We’re proud to share the world record and look forward to creating our next jackpot millionaire.” These comments came directly from Microgaming’s official press desk. Jonathon Heywood from Cheshire, England, placed a £0.25 (CA$0.50) bet on the Mega Moolah slot machine and triggered the progressive jackpot bonus round where he managed to win the record-breaking payout.
